ARLEQUIN & ARLEQUEEN
The Arlequin is a battle yacht in mixed reality, measuring one meter long. The Arlequeen is the customizable version of the Arlequin, which offers the choice of its livery and the colors of its wardrobe.
THE ARLEQUIN GUIDED TOUR
This yacht, has been designed without compromise to be simple, powerful and versatile in any weather. 3 years of R&D and more than 10 seaworthy prototypes were necessary for the development of this technological little gem.
EMBEDDED SYSTEM
The Arlequin is equipped with a mini on-board computer running at 500 MHz. It has an inertial unit, a temperature sensor, a centimeter level GNSS module and an RFID chip for contactless connection. It communicates in BLE and WiFi on the 2.4 Ghz band with a secure transmission range of 150m. An optical fiber indicator light completes the on-board system to indicate the sailboat’s operating status and GNSS calibration.
BATTERY POT
The battery pot includes a waterproof rocker switch and two high performance Lithium-ion batteries. These rechargeable batteries are protected against overcharging, deep discharge and short circuits. They allow navigation in normal condition for about an hour. Accompanying sustainable development over time is a prerequisite. That's why the Arlequin has been designed to also be powered by the new generations of sodium-ion batteries, which offer many technical, financial and ecological advantages. This technology, which is being industrialised, will be available by 2022. Finally, the side ventilation grids allow natural ventilation of the yacht during storage.

ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING & GENERATIVE DESIGN
Our industrial and environmental challenge was to produce a racing sailboat as strong and light as a composite model, while having a higher level of precision and repeatability, to guarantee quality production in small series. We therefore turned to HP’s Multi Jet Fusion 3D printing technology, for the production of floats and appendages. This nylon additive manufacturing process (PA 12) is the only one allowing the creation of ultra-light, waterproof, resistant, and durable internal structures. After several iterations of weight optimisation (assisted by a generative design process in collaboration with Autodesk experts), our final model presents identical performance to our 6 prototypes traditionally built in composite; for an unequaled level of finish!
INTEGRATED SHEET CIRCUIT
Double gear sheets circuit for speeding up sheet pulling speed by reducing the sailarm servo motor stroke. Spectra high modulus polyethylene yarns with excellent breaking, abrasion and UV resistance ratio.

APPENDAGES & MICRO MECHANICS
Magnetic rudder for ease of positioning. Keel fin reinforced with a carbon fiber tube to increase its stiffness. Recycled lead bulb, covered with a protective MJF envelope to preserve any risk of contamination of marine ecosystems. Double hull engine block with grease cap. Stainless steel propeller shaft, ball bearing and angle gears. Three-blade propeller printed in titanium.
RIGS AND WIND FORCES
The Arlequin has 3 sized rigs to adapt to the different forces of the wind. Rig 1: Light weather: 0 to 3 Beaufort: Between 0 and 11 knots of wind. Rig 2: Light breeze: 3 to 4 Beaufort: Between 7 and 15 knots of wind. Rig 3: Fresh wind: 4 to 6 Beaufort: Between 11 and 27 knots of wind. The ranges of use above are given as an indication.

Sails printed in recto / verso by ultraviolet, then get in shape and stitched. Sail numbers and country codes are at the owner’s choice.

TRANSPORT BOXES AND CRADLE
The Arlequin fits in two boxes that are easily transportable in a standard-size passenger vehicle. Several bag / cover / trunk solutions are in study and being prototyped (models above non-contractual). The sail box has storage for 3 rigs and a housing for the folding cradle. The boat box holds the hull, appendages and accessories (chargers, batteries, keys, Xbox controller with Wifi dongle, exterior visors for the Hololens 2, towel, etc.). Prototype with custom livery for the French Sailing Federation.
